Human connection

Wow, I'm tired, but I want to write this because I want to record all good things that happen.
I had a really good time at the AS meeting on Sunday. Spent the whole day with Heidi and Stuart. I wrote about it but Orble wasnt working that night so I posted it in my oither diary. Tonight my other diary isnt working so I am posting here (well I would anyway). Funny how that works though isnt it?
Will try to post that later.
Went to a Democrats meeting with Heidi Sunday night. Wasn't going to stay but ended up doing so. Met someone running for local representative to the state government who lives five minutes from me (and trust me, I live out in the middle of nowhere. No one lives five minutes from me) and was quite friendly. The only reason I went to the meeting at all was to see if I could strike up a conversation with anyone, so I was quite pleased over that.
What's more, I decided to help out with her campaign. Well, mostly because she said she would pick me up and it's something to do! Plus I like talking to people ( making phone calls) ( under right circumstances ). She said I could do it in the evenings, which is perfect.
Tonight she picked me up to go to a meeting of the local town Democrats meeting (sunday was county meeting).
Ha, there was only three people there including us (small town) so the meeting was just okay not so fun but then we went back to her home office and met her chief volunteer and I did some data entry and I liked it ,liked being a part of things. Felt so natural. Very few things ever feel natural, this felt natural and easy and I was rather surprised. Because as I said, I seem to be allergic to life in general.
Then we went to Friendly's for dinner though - and I suprised myself by accepting the offer, I rarely do anything on spur of the moment but I thought, okay, it's an opportunity to be more social , and the worst thing that could happen is I'll be bored but I'll get ice cream, how bad is that ,lol.
But I wasn't bored at all. I REALLY enjoyed their company. I didn't want to leave even to go to the bathroom, lol.
Evie is like 60 or 70 or maybe 80, she's the volunteer, she was very nice. Lu, the candidate, has a great personality.
We found things to talk about, and we laughed, and it felt good. We didn't talk politics either, we just got into an easy conversation about other things, something that seems to be usually nearly impossible for me to do - I never do anything with ease lol - but again this felt natural and that felt great. I've been told I have a good sense of humor and am funny and I am beginning to realize that that is an asset of mine, as it was tonight.
The ice cream sundae was very good, too. Oreo. Much better than expected. YUM.
She is a great person. She is real and genuine and genuinely interested in other people and their stories. She is open and friendly and you can relate to her. She exposes her own faults, which is something I really like about a person, that they are secure and strong enough to show that they are human like the rest of us. She has a great smile and kept smiling at me, too.
I gave them some of the fudge I got earlier today, too. They appreciated that. I love giving people chocolate, lol.
I don't like hearing new music on the radio before I'm aware that it exists, lol. Never used to happen. new Jake Owen, kind of a weird song. didnt like his first one and dont particularly like this one either. well i may grow to like it tho. Its a lot more sentimental than his first one. ... Yee Haw.... lol.
Hmm. it is a thoughtful song. It is very similar to Bobby Pinson's song which I did like very much. Too bad he never came out with anything else ( that succeeded ). What was the name of that song? or was it the brad martin song? Ha. brain fried tonight i think . im too tired to even care that i cant remember the name of the bobby pinson song. too tired to even look it up. but not too tired apparently to write about how im too tired to do it lol.
Anywhere where was I. I've got WGTY online. I like their overnight DJ. And their choice of music. And of course the sentimentality of listening to it.
Anyway. So yeah, human connection. Human connection is a wonderful thing.

Okay focus lol. Somewhere in here there is a point that I am trying to make , believe it or not.
So, connection. I love the feeling of connecting with another human being. I love the filled up feeling you get. This is the second time this week I have felt filled up and good / satisfied/ content and I love that (first was with Heidi and Stuart Sunday night. We had a chocolate tasting. All night. Now THAT was fun.)
So yeah I need to remember how good it feels to connect with someone and find ways to do it more and something like thart lol
I am glad I decided to go tonight
Dad even made me dinner early, was nice of him, he hates cooking early.
We went driving around today the lakes region to all the little small towns and found a place selling apple cider. Kind of a nice drive, something to do together I guess. Fudge was too sweet for me - got apple pie fudge tho- woah - tasted like the real thing.
Just when I start to feel hopeless about life something usually happens to get me excited about it again. Uusally... not always. But there is so much to explore and experience ,and under the best of circumstances, I love exploring and experiencing and observing it all. I suppose I just have to work on getting thru the times when it's not the best of circumstances better - or better yet, do something positive and proactive for myself so I can be in much better circumstances and have things go much better for myself.
Tomorrow I am going to dinner with Betsy at Gretchen's house - another opportunity to be social - I am getting those a lot lately, at least this week - very good thing!
She's coming at 5, not sure what I'll do before then or if my dad will even be home or what he's doing tomorrow. SUpposed to rain.
Keep meaning to call my grandma but havent had time in the last few days. Called Fri but she wasn't there and haven't had a chance since then, and may not for the rest of this week, although I will try and hope she doesn't take it too hard if I don't call till the weekend.
Okay. I'm going now. I made a goal to stop napping and start sleeping since it keeps messing me up rather horrifically it seems - but well I tried I had the best of intentions last night but it didn't quite happen. And im not suire if it ll happen tonight either. but we'll see. I aim to be asleep for the night no later than 5 and preferably by 4. It's 1230 now. I really should do laundry tonight. And unload the dishwasher. Argh. I need a rest first lol. We left at 2 pm for grocery shopping, I had a little break in between but not much and then went out wiht Lu at 7 and came back 1030 so I'm tired.
Anyway. I sure do have a gift for rambling. Good thing that's what this diary is for
